Patterns

Below are the current available patterns from The Fiber Factor™ contest designers. While we’ve received requests for many of the other designs, we will not be releasing all patterns from each challenge. Due to the rapid tempo of the contest, designers are not required to submit completed/graded patterns with their designs – we only require detailed notes. As a result, the creation of a workable pattern is extremely time intensive. Further, certain designs require additional modifications to ensure a saleable pattern. We truly appreciate your understanding and thank you for following along!

  1. would love to have the pattern for Steve May’s Trans-Europe Express.
If enough of us ask nicely, please will it be released?

  2. I just purchased the Mashera Hood pattern (I love this and can’t wait to make it!), but I was quite disappointed with the photography. The gorgeous dark gray color that Lauren used in the JUL challenge has either been changed, or the color is very off in the photos. The photos are also dark, and the lighting obscures some of the detail. For a $7.00 pattern, it’d be nice to have beautiful pictures

    • Hi Cheryl.
I am very sorry you are disappointed with the photography for Maschera. I’m not really sure what gray colored thing you are speaking of, as Lauren used Aubergine Venetian Hinges by JUL, and the Milford yarns she used were blue and teal. I don’t see anything gray in her design at all. I just downloaded the pattern from ravelry myself to confirm everything was correct, and then I printed it out. The pictures look great on my screen and in the printout. Perhaps you can increase the brightness on your screen or lighten your printer settings.

      • I’ll try that, thanks for the suggestion. In the judging video the Mashcera hood looked like a dark gray, and the hinges looked like a deep redwood color–maybe my monitor is off

  3. Dying for Maschera before winter ends! I know VKL NY is this weekend, then can you try to get it on here? PLEASE! Thank you!

  4. Not to bother you, but now that I am wearing Bravura :-), I have ordered and have in ‘my hot little hands’ the eight skeins of Milford for Maschera. Any ETA for the pattern to touch down. I would love to wear it in this cold weather.
Also, what are the odds of getting the stitch pattern that Katie used for Mammatus Rug. I have a bunch of the Kenzie remaining (I double ordered for Bravura just in case) and think that Katie’s rug would be wonderful to walk on (I agree Karin) or fabulous to snuggle under. Thanks, Pam

    • Congrats on finishing Bravura!
The Maschera pattern should be available very soon – we are just waiting for the item to be photographed.
I don’t think we plan on releasing the Mammatus Rug stitch pattern.

  5. Since pattern writing was a part of Challenge 6, will Queeny’s awesome bag be released for purchase? This is so something that I so desire to knit!

  6. I hope you’re planning to release Rachel Henry’s Winter Beach after Bravura. I fell in love with her design when I first saw it and was so happy to see it on the list of upcoming patterns.

  7. Still waiting for Tracy’s Bravura pattern to become available! My niece will look fabulous in it! I’m also wondering if John’s Bainbridge Cardigan pattern will be released.

    • Bravura should be available online within a week!
We have no current plans to release a pattern for John’s Bainbridge Cardigan.

  8. Haha, I am feeling so impatient. I want Bravura and Owl in One patterns and keep stalking this page hoping they have moved away from the “coming soon” list … Anyone would think the contestants are busy.

  9. Thank you Steve & Meghan for the free downloads. I’m also looking forward to the release of Steve, Meghan, & Katie’s Challenge 4 designs: they totally sell the addi Express concept.

  10. Oh my gosh I finally got a close up of Laurens sweater. It is beautiful. I didn’t realize all the beautiful work in the front. gorgous.
I am so impressed with all the talent here.

  11. I would love to have all the patterns from the contestants, there should be a book published with them all in it. I would pay to have one of these pattern books.

    • Thanks Le’Tonya…glad to hear you like it. Not sure if they will make it available or not. But I am working on a matching cowl 3 ways that I hope to have done soon..I don’t having anything else to do as I get better from my fall. I will post on my page once they are done. I hope they do my pattern, if not I will when I can after the 18 months we have to wait. I love this too..Thanks again…

    • you’re quite welcome! and to give credit where it’s due, the good folks at skacel actually put the pattern together out of my notes, so thanks to them too :)

  13. yes it is i have bought two sets of addi clicks kenzie yarn simplicity yarn and got a friend to order the beautiful kenzie yarn

  14. Thank you so much for Crossbones!! And for the list of ‘Coming Soon’. Please add Katie’s rug/blanket; Pretty Please :-)
PS It is working; I have ordered 34 skeins of Kenzie in the last few weeks :-)

  15. i cant wait for the new patterns im working on evolution and just bought the yarn for hillcrest . i am looking forword to tracys pattern

  16. Please release Steve May’s textured cowl pattern! I love it and can’t wait to knit it. I’m all about neutrals and textures, and can’t wait to embrace the “meditative” project. Please don’t make me wait 18 months :-(

      • I love Tracys entry for challenge 3, also really liked Terris, and Rachels. Good choice for winner. I can see the easy saleability of the owl onesie, cute,if you have someone to make it for. I want the other three for me.

  17. love Laura’s Owl onesie and owl toy challenge 3….very sellable! I hope you guys make the pattern available!

  18. I would love to have Lauren Riker’s pattern for the 2nd contest. I hope you release it so I don’t have to wait 18 months!

  19. I’m so glad that we will be seeing patterns (maybe even kits?) for the Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired sweater! Hands-down that was my favorite, and I will definitely purchase the pattern and/or kit when it comes available.

  20. How are the patterns being chosen? Will the individual designer be able to release patterns if they choose to do so?

    • It is a case by case basis as to which patterns are released and when. So everyone knows, the contestants are not required to submit full patterns with their designs. We would rather have them spend time knitting their projects. We will be releasing patterns for some of the designs during the contest, and all of the contestants can release all of their patterns 18 months after the contest is over.

    • Thank you for your question, Kate!
Unfortunately, not all of the contestants’ designs will be available as patterns.
And as of now, we do not have plans to release this particular pattern.
